Southside Festival to głównie skały festiwal muzyczny , który odbywa się na terenie dawnej bazy wojskowej niedaleko Tuttlingen , Niemczech ( Badenia-Wirtembergia ), w czerwcu od 1999 roku . Od edycji 2005 jest sponsorowany przez VIVA , niemiecki kanał telewizyjny należący do grupy Viacom . Festiwal trwa trzy dni i odbywa się w tym samym czasie, co Hurricane Festival w północnych Niemczech, z którym zwykle dzieli większość swojego programu.

Burza 2007 roku

W noc poprzedzającą edycję 2007 na teren festiwalu uderzyła gwałtowna burza, która zburzyła namiot sceniczny i wyrzuciła w powietrze metalowe słupy. Jeden z nich spadł na dach zaparkowanej w pobliżu furgonetki ratowniczej, zabijając jednego z pasażerów i poważnie raniąc drugiego. Organizatorzy festiwalu rozważali wówczas jego odwołanie przed podjęciem decyzji o jego zatrzymaniu za radą policji, władz lokalnych, a nawet jednostki paramedycznej. Koncerty, które miały się odbyć na zniszczonej scenie, zostały jednak odwołane. Poza tragicznym epizodem 2007 roku festiwal znany jest z często przerażających warunków pogodowych, zwłaszcza podczas edycji 2010 i 2011, które utrudniają życie festiwalowiczom. Niemcy nazywają również Southside Schlammside Festival (festiwal błota).
